What does MUST WRITE do?
There are two kinds of post on MUST WRITE.
Every day, Monday through Saturday, we send a short motivational email directly to your in box. These daily motivators are:
Ad-free
Link-free
5 minute reads or less
Designed to help you transition directly into a writing session.
For best results, open and read the email when you are about to start writing. Or when you are trying to convince yourself to start writing.
On Sundays, we take things a little slower. The Sunday posts are longer and spend more time thinking about the craft and psychology of writing, and include links to resources and articles, stats about the week, and other interesting and useful (but distracting) items that are BANNED from daily motivators.
Sundays are for learning and growing, but Monday-Saturday are for WRITING.
Who is MUST WRITE for?
MUST WRITE is for anyone that a) needs to write on a regular basis to meet their goals and b) needs to get that writing in front of an audience.
This includes grad students, copywriters, journalists, fanfic authors, and anyone else who needs to put words on a page and then let other people read it. (Journalers are welcome, but there's a different feel to writing that is only for yourself, which may not be fully captured by the MUST WRITE energy.)
What are the subscription tiers?
Free subscribers get the long-form Sunday email and a motivator email every Wednesday.
Paid subscribers ($5/month) get the long-form Sunday email and a motivator email every day, Monday-Saturday.
Why does the daily subscription cost money?
Because there is intention, and then there is commitment.
You probably intend to write. You may even intend to write every day without fail. But do you?
If you do, you can go join all the other superhumans in Camelot or wherever you people hang out.
If you're a normal person, and you've found this newsletter, then you struggle to write every day. And while signing up for a daily motivational email shows a great deal of intention to write, you still have to open, read, and act on the email for it to have any effect on your writing at all.
By paying for a subscription, you have taken a physical action and made a fiscal commitment to actually utilizing the daily motivators. You're less likely to ignore or delete them, even on bad days, because by golly you paid for those emails!
The paid subscription also allows me to keep the daily motivators ad-free and link-free, to provide the most focused experience possible.
